Tambourines FAQ

How many can I order?
There are no restrictions on how many you want to order. However, the more you order, the more time Cathy-Ann will need to paint them. So if you think you'll need more than the average 100-150, make sure you've allowed for plenty of paint time! 

Please note - our pricing is dependent on how many you're having. If it's 15 and under, this is part of our single tambourine pricing. If it's over 15, this falls into our bulk tambourine pricing. 

What sizes do you offer?
Currently we offer 4", 6", 8" and 10". However we are able to secure 12" on request too!

What is the turnaround time? 
Depending on the quantity you've ordered and what design tier you've chosen, the order will take anywhere between 3-8 weeks. 

What are the design tiers?
Our pricing is split into three design tiers, going up in price as the design becomes more detailed. For the pricing of each tier, check out our listing for bulk orders here and single orders here. Ribbons are included in all these 

Tier 1 is lettering only, this can be guest names or the newlywed names (e.g The Smiths) - it can even be a little slogan or a line from your wedding song. This design tier is for NO illustration - keeping it chic and simple. Perfect for using as place settings. 

Tier 2 is lettering but also a small amount of illustration. This could be a rose bud under each name, some foliage along the bottom or even a banner for your wedding date to sit in. This tier is to add a little something without it taking too long to turnaround. 

Tier 3 is full illustration and lettering, this is the tier for anyone wanting the ultimate wow factor. This can be a crest, lots of florals, or even all illustration such as a tile print or landscape. 

Where do you ship and how does it work?
We ship almost all over the world, subject to any restrictions your country may have. Currently we have shipped to: UK, USA, Mexico, most of Europe, Canada and Australia.
Shipping is calculated when we have the final weight of the parcel, so all pricing before then is an estimate. We use DHL Express as my go-to courier for larger orders and UPS for smaller orders. Tracking numbers will always be given. 

T&C's for shipping: We will do everything we can to make sure your parcels always arrive safely and on time, however once a parcel has left the studio we are no longer responsible for what happens during it's journey. We have never had a parcel go missing or turn up damaged, but we have had parcels get delayed in certain countries due to weather or road blockages. Cathy-Ann will contact the relevant shipping companies and open up cases where possible to get answers for you, but Thistle Paper Co cannot be held responsible for these restrictions. 

I want guest names but don't have them all yet, when is the latest I can send them?
As long as you have the majority (90%) of your guest names 4-5 weeks before your wedding date, we can make this work! Of course, the earlier you can get a completed guest list, the better! But we understand there will always be stragglers and we will accomodate as best as we can to make sure you have everyone accounted for on the big day! 

How does payment work?
Unless your order is due in under 4 weeks from our first contact, we will ask for a 50% deposit to secure you the production diary. The remaining amount is due on completion BEFORE shipping. You will be shown plenty of pictures and videos of the final work to make sure you're happy before we send the final invoice. 

I need my order in under 4 weeks, will it cost more?
Yes - this will be subject to an express charge of 20%. We will also ask for full payment upfront. Your shipping will also need to be adjusted to allow for this faster turnaround too. 

I don't know what design I want!
No problem! Part of our tambourine service are the sketches and physical mock-ups. We'll have a chat about where your wedding/event is being held, what things are really important to you, what your colour scheme is and any florals you want included. When we have a good idea of the general vibe, Cathy-Ann will make some sketches for you to look over and decide which design you like best.

After that, Cathy-Ann will paint a mock up for you to see in person before she begins the final paintings. 

Can I order a mock up if I haven't placed an order yet?
Yes! We understand that some clients will want to see and feel the quality of the tambourines and painting. We offer these at a small charge which is discussed when we've had a chat about what you'd like on the mock up and what size.

I've ordered the tambourines myself, can you paint them for me?
Yes - but we will need to confirm the type of tambourine you've ordered first to be sure the paint will adhere to them. There are some budget tambourines that will not allow paint the adhere on the skin and we cannot paint those (learnt from experience!). If you have the shop link you got them from or if you can send us photos/videos of the ones you have, we'll be happy to confirm. 

Pricing for those will be reduced and we can chat about that when I find out what you'd like done on them!
